How to Cash your Checks with Cash App
Cashing your paper checks through Cash App is fast and convenient, and only a few steps are required so that you’ll be able to access your funds as quickly as possible:
1. Simply tap on your balance after opening Cash App.
2. Scroll down a little until you find the “deposit a check” option.
3. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be required to enter the face value amount of the check that you would like to cash.
4. Finally, you will be asked to take a photo of the front and back of the actual check that you want to cash. This must be done by using your phone’s camera.
Requirements your Check Must Meet before it is Accepted by Cash App
You must ensure that your check meets these requirements before attempting to cash it with Cash App:
1. It must be made out to you.
2. It must be payable by a US credit union, bank, or legal depository institution.
3. It’s currency must be US dollars.
4. It must be appropriately signed.
5. It’s face value may not exceed the maximum permitted amount for the mobile check capture facility.
6. It must be dated and not more than 90 days old.
7. It must not be altered in any way.
8. It must not have been captured or deposited by any other means.
9. It must not have been previously dishonored for any reason.
Always ensure that your contact information on Cash App is up to date and that you retain the paper check for up to two weeks after it has been cashed successfully. This will help ensure that your check will be able to be cashed as quickly as possible.
